Jimmy Snyder is the annoying boy in Oskar’s class who teases him. Jimmy plays Hamlet in their class play, and he makes fun of , who he says laughs at the wrong parts. Oskar imagines himself standing up to Jimmy and humiliating him, but instead, he keeps quiet. Jimmy also torments Oskar when Oskar gives a presentation about the bombing of Japan in World War II. Jimmy is Oskar’s antithesis in every way: Oskar is curious, hyper-verbal, and very sensitive, but Jimmy spends all his energy making raunchy jokes and being a bully.
