Analysis
During the next two years, Clive and Maurice share abundant happiness. They are affectionate and consistent, and, owing to Clive, very sensible.  Love guides them so that “two imperfect souls might touch perfection.”
Clive and Maurice share a happy two years together, growing closer over that time. Though their relationship began tumultuously, and though they must hide it from the world, it has also settled into a rhythm that works for both of them.
