Zoey
The British Soldier is an unnamed man who emerges from the trenches on his side of the front line and approaches Joey after the horse has wandered into a stretch of no-man’s-land. He converses with the German Soldier in a friendly way even though they are enemies in the conflict, and their conversation reflects on the pointlessness and horrors of the war. He wins the coin toss and claims Joey for the British Army.
