Antigono Character Analysis in The Decameron

Antigono appears in ’s second tale (II, 7). Although he has been a wise advisor and emissary to the Cypriot king for many years, has kept him from gaining wealth until he recognizes and reunites her with , for which he is richly rewarded. He uses his connections to reunite her with her father in grand style, and his cunning and compassion to help her come up with a believable tale about what she did while she was missing.
