Boston Tea Party Term Analysis

The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the Tea Act of 1773, which allowed the British to trade tea in the American colonies without paying taxes. This was the culmination of years of tension between the British and their American colony, in which the colonists resented “taxation without representation.” In one of the major events that led up to the American Revolution, protesters destroyed a shipment of tea from the East India Company.
