Grandad is Vivian/Niamh’s grandfather, the husband of “Gram” and the father of Patrick Power. He is born in Ireland in the late 1800s and remains there even after his son emigrates. He is kind to Niamh, but plays a key role in sending Niamh and her family away to New York.
