The Furies Character Analysis

The female gods of vengeance in Greek mythology. The Furies are often interpreted as the embodiment of curses, and they serve a similar purpose in Prometheus Bound. Prometheus tells the chorus that Kronos had cursed Zeus after the Battle of the Titans, and the Furies, or “the triple Fates,” “plot the course” of “Necessity” regarding Kronos’s curse. The Furies are “unforgetting,” Prometheus says, and there can be no escape from them—not even for Zeus.
