The boy is the young man interviewing Louis in the present day. Louis’s tale fascinates him, though he seems to learn all of the wrong lessons from it. By the time Louis stops talking, the boy wants to become a vampire himself, even though Louis’s tale ends in tragedy.
Babette Freniere
Babette Freniere runs the Freniere plantation after the young Freniere’s death. Louis considers her his first love, although they had little face to face contact with each other. It is a great emotional blow to Louis when Babette rejects him, thinking he is the devil.
Morgan
Morgan is an Englishman Louis and Claudia meet while traveling in Eastern Europe. He is trying to prevent the locals from desecrating the body of his wife, Emily, who died from a vampire attack.
Louis’s Brother
