Mr. Longman is the steward at Mr. B’s Bedfordshire house. He is an older man who takes an immediate liking to Pamela. While Pamela is trapped at Lincolnshire, Mr. Longman sends a message to her through a fortuneteller to warn her of Mr. B’s plan to hold a sham-marriage with her. This angers Mr. B, who then fires Longman, although Pamela rehires him and rewards him at the end of the book.
