Henry Grayle Character Analysis

Henry Grayle is the principal of Ewen High School. He is decisive and assertive, even against parents such as John Hargensen, who threatens to sue the school after Rita Desjardin confronts John’s daughter Chris about Chris’s bullying. Grayle stands up for Carrie against John, threatening to countersue the Hargensens on Carrie’s behalf. Even so, Grayle blames himself for the events of prom night and resigns from his post at the end of the novel.
