Taylor Ambrose Character Analysis

Taylor is Kate’s first boyfriend. The two meet at the hospital while Kate is undergoing chemo for her cancer. Taylor has acute myeloid leukemia (AML), which has a much better prognosis than Kate’s APL. The two attend the hospital prom together and share a first kiss. However, shortly after, Taylor stops returning Kate’s calls. Sara learns that he passed away from an infection shortly after the prom, but she hides this from Kate for a month, leading Kate to believe that Taylor simply abandoned her. When Kate discovers the truth, she is devastated and does not speak to Sara for weeks.
