Graciela’s colleague in “Woman Hollering Creek,” and the woman who drives Cleófilas and Juan Pedrito safely to San Antonio so that they can board a bus bound for Mexico and thereby escape the abusive Juan Pedro. Felice is a free spirit and independent woman who drives a pickup truck and uses vulgar words like viega, calling smaller calls “pussy cars.” When she drives over Woman Hollering Creek, she lets out a loud yell and explains that she does that whenever she crosses the river, since it is the only landmark in the area named after a woman. “Makes you want to holler like Tarzan,” she says.
