Another Country: Book 3, Chapter 2 Summary & Analysis

Summary
Analysis
The following day, Yves flies into New York City. As his plane starts to descend, Yves feels nervous. He looks around at the other passengers on the plane and finds himself hopelessly out of place. However, as soon as he gets off the plane and sees Eric, all of his fears go away. He is excited to be in New York and cannot wait to find out what excitement and beauty the city has to offer.
Although it would be difficult to call Yves’s flight to New York a happy ending given what has happened in the days leading up to his arrival, it does have a note of optimism. Yves has left behind his home in search of a better life in another country, though the country itself is not as important to him as the people in it.
